A NOT SO BRIEF HISTORY
F-Cubed came about from a desire of mine to produce a funky sports/fitness clothing range, I felt that the clothes on offer were just a little dull and I wanted to create something more interesting. One night over a glass of red, I was chatting to a friend about it and I just said “fun funky functional clothing” ....
And F-Cubed was 'born'. We did start doing some stuff together, thinking of designs etc – but the more I looked into it, the more I realised how hard it would be to do it from scratch, life got in the way and it got put on the shelf - plus Lulu Lemon kinda had the market covered!!!! The time then seemed right to pick it back up again and so I did and I enlisted the help of a designer friend and we did actually print one of my photos onto some clothing – but I wasn't happy with it so that died a death too!...
So was I looking in the wrong place? Was my idea worth following or did it need modifying? If it had died 2 times already maybe I needed to rethink it? If I got put off so fast then my passion wasn’t behind it... However I realised it was worth it and something I wanted to do but was maybe going about it the wrong way...?? I was still into the F-Cubed and the 3 Fs – which lead me somehow to go – what the f do you stand for? So I thought of as many f words as I could with the thought of it no longer being fun funky functional, but
How do you feel today?
And which 3 Fs are you going to pick? And I would get them printed on tee shirts, and maybe also use some photos I have photoshopped on vests too at some stage - mind went into overdrive as usual. I was sitting one night, drinking red wine, probably eating dark chocolate and I started to look for business card sites and came across one which had an F idea that drew my attention and sparked my imagination and the F-Cubed logo was born... I studied (and failed my 2nd year - another story) Maths at Uni so this cube appealed to my mathematical side as well as my creative side. I liked the fact it makes you wonder and ponder the fact it is 'F-Cubed ' and my choice for primary colours was simply because they are just fab and bright and uplifting and childish. We could all do with keeping our childish sides alive!
So where to go now? I had a logo but what the 'F' do I want to do with it"??
I sat on it a while and a while longer - sitting on a cube starts to hurt your butt after a while...... and I procrastinated further until a friend came back from a course on which she had to brand herself and no I'm not talking self inflicted tattooing either. Anyway she was telling me about it and I thought it was a good idea to 'brand' myself - or really rather to define the values that I want to live by so F-Cubed became more about what I did stand for....
I looked back into my life to date - what brought me to be the person that I am right now?? I looked into all areas of my life, in and out of work, socialising, training, teaching, practising, creating or reading - they all had and still have lessons to teach me. Looking back this way helped me see how far I have come, what I have achieved to date and it helped me get to know myself better.
As a person I've changed, as we all do, and we change constantly - I like to think I am fluid and adaptable and open to new ideas and philosophies - others think it makes me unpredictable...... I behave differently on different days with different people. I question myself - who I am – what image do I want to put out – how do I want people to see me – what impression do I give personally and professionally – the questions can go on and on and don't necessarily get or need an answer. Along the way F-Cubed has changed a bit too - as I change so will what I put forward to the world - as I grow and evolve so will F-Cubed .
The main reason for this site?? It is about differing philosophies. F-Cubed is my personal philosophy and who I am -the way I try to live and be true to myself and who I am... I have often tried to 'box' myself in, in an attempt to fit in to one of life's pigeon holes. It doesn't work - "I am that I am" (Wayne Dyer), and what I am IS good enough to put my thoughts out there - about life, about my career passion and just about anything I chose to talk about. Pilates Art is my take on Pilates - what I have learnt over the years (since 2003 when I started) and it will change too.....
There are no boundaries except those we impose on ourselves....
My aim is
to provoke thought
to spark a fire
to inspire
to motivate
to speak truth
and to encourage everyone to live the lives they want to lead
Who am I tho to put this 'FCUBED' out there ....why do I think the world needs F-Cubed ?
I stopped....and remembered one of the greatest quotes I have ever read:
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” Marianne Williamsom

Who am I not to put this out there.....
The point is
We can stand for whatever we want
And we can be whoever we want to be
And this may change
Day by day
Week by week
Month by month
Year by year
Be who you want to be
Accept your feelings
Face your fears
And strive to be the best you can be
At any and every given moment in time.
F-Cubed stands for whatever the " F " you want it to.
For me it's about freedom of speech, opinion, being true to myself and who I want to be, belief in what I want, being myself, growing, evolving.
It's about all of us being independently together........
We can stand for whatever we want
And we can be whoever we want to be

I AM WHAT I AM....AND WHAT I AM NEEDS NO EXCUSES.
I Am.... Lots of things and no one thing!.... I am a daughter, a friend, a pilates trainer and educator, an artist, a cook, a lover of chocolate and red wine and coffee. We are all made of any personas and I don't want to restrict myself to any one.
F-Cubed exists to:
Provoke thought in all areas of life and not to be boxed in by limitations.
Live with boundaries not within boundaries.
Inspire, look into ourselves with open eyes and take the lid off our box to find new thoughts.
Encourage us to keep moving in new and different directions - physically, mentally and spiritually.
Break down the sides/walls/barriers and to help to evolve.
Enable us to start from the inside, then to expand horizons and to see the bigger picture.
So we all aspire to be the best individually and globally.
We all have different opinions, ideals and beliefs and behaviours
It’s what makes the world go round.
